Week of August 29 - September 2 2011

SEVENTH GRADE
Monday- WELCOME BACK !!!! I hope everyone is ready for a great year.  Monday we will be doing
               the regular stuff that has to be done every year such as seating, discussing the course outline, and
               practicing the procedures of the classroom.

Tuesday- Students will receive their textbooks.
               We will also discuss the Current Event Assignments and the Portolios that are expected to be
               handed in during the marking period. All students should have a folder or a binder along with a
               notebook and writing utensils.

Wednesday- We will begin the Course TODAY !!!! I can feel the excitement.
                     Students will take a Geography Map Pretest. Study the map for a QUIZ Friday.

Thursday - Lesson 1: The 5 Themes of Geography
                 Study your Geography Map Prestest for a Quiz Tomorrow

Friday- Geography Map QUIZ
            Current Event Quiz

EIGHTH GRADE

Monday- Welcome BACK !!! I hope everyone had an outstanding summer and you are ready to get back
               to work and study the rest of the globe. Today we will be discussing the course and reviewing the
               procedures and course outline.

Tuesday- Students will receive their books.
               We will discuss the portfolio assignments and the current event requirements for the course.

Wednesday- Today we will begin the course with Chapter 1: GEOGRAPHY REVIEW
                    Students will also complete a Geographic pretest map. Study the map for a quiz FRIDAY.

Thursday- Lesson 1: Review the 5 Themes of Geography
                Study your review maps for a quiz tomorrow.

Friday- Geography Review Map Quiz
            Current Event Quiz
            Have a great weekend

TENTH GRADE ( American History II)

Monday - Introduction the course and classroom procedures.
                Students will receive their course outlines and syllabus.

Tuesday- Students will receive their textbooks.
               We will be discussing the procedures of the room along with some of the assignments that will
               be completed as part of the course.
               Complete your U.S. History REVIEW Questions for tomorrow.

Wednesday- Check and Discuss U.S. History Review Questions
                     Today we will begin the course with Chapter 1: The Progressive Era
                     Study your U.S. Review Questions for a quiz on Friday

Thursday- Lesson 2: Women in the Progressive Era
                Reading Assignment: "The Jungle" Upton Sinclair. Read the Article and answer the questions.
                Reading Assignment is due Monday
               Study your U.S. History Review Questions for Quiz Tomorrow.

Friday- U.S. History Review Quiz
            Current Event Quiz
            Go Spartans
