Week of October 3 - 7

SEVENTH GRADE

Monday-Friday
During this week of school the students will be working on an In-Class Project. The students are required to
create a complete geographic map projection in which they design a world and create everything on the map from their own imagination and creativity. The project will show their understanding of map skills and their ability to create accurate maps. The students will be working on the project during the week and they are due Friday.

EIGHTH GRADE
Monday- Europe Map Packets are due
               We will check and discuss the European map packets

Tuesday- Lesson 2: NW Europe British Isles
             - Review the Political map

Wednesday- North Ireland Conflict: We will be discussing the elements of the North Ireland Conflict
                    -Review the Political map

Thursday- FINAL European Political Map Review
                Study your maps for a political map test tomorrow

Friday- European Political map Test

TENTH GRADE

Monday- Chapter 5 Test

Tuesday- Pass back and discuss tests
              - Begin Chapter 6 World War I

Wednesday- Lesson 2: The fighting Begins
                     Technology of WWI, Trench warfare and the positives and negatives of modern warfare

Thursday- Lesson 3: U.S. neutrality at beginning of WWI
                 Study Presidents 1-10 for quiz tomorrow

Friday- Presidents 1-10 QUIZ
             Complete Section one Chapter 6

Thursday- These two days we will be working on In Class Projects with Special Purpose Maps

Friday- Collect Projects/ Study Guides Will be handed out/ STUDY TEST TUESDAY

EIGHTH GRADE
Monday- We will begin our cultural comparison Projects. It is an in-class Project that we will be working
                on all week. The project consists of a poster that the students are completing in class and also a
                writing prompt. The project is due Friday.

Tuesday- Thursday - IN CLASS PROJECT

Friday- Projects are due/ Study Guides passed out/ STUDY TEST TUESDAY !!!

TENTH GRADE
Monday- Students will get their tests passed back.

             - Lesson 4: Maps vs. Globes is a lesson that is in their notebook
             - Practice Grid system and map skills

                  - two portfolio assignments will be handed out today( Using a compass and scale)

Tuesday- Students will get their grades back on the Map Quizzes.
                We will review the 5 Themes of Geography and the students will receive their first
                marking period writing prompts. The writing prompts are due on MONDAY.

Wednesday- Lesson 3 Hemispheres and Grid Lines
                    The students will begin working with a grid system and plotting coordinates on the grid system.

Thursday- Latitude/Longitude Practice sheets
                Review the 5 Themes of Geography for a quiz on Friday
                STUDY 5 THEMES NOTES FOR QUIZ
